i think u should ask me what happened to the prints.
as i explained, everything was held up at customs for some time .south african customs is different to your cutoms in usa.our goods have to go thru export customs first and that takes a while.
the first batch of movies arrived in usa yesterday and i asked my friend to contact the parties it belongs to.
before u warn people about me or start accusing me ,ask me directly.i already informed jeff about some movies that arrived.i dont know which ones, but i sent over 15 movies to usa last month and there waybills for all of them.ur free to contact our customs office in sa and ask them what the delay was.
u have to remember this is africa and things get done differently over here.

Hi Naushad,
Most of us here buy and sell overseas all the time. Export is rarely (if ever) an issue - the issue (if one exists at all) is always on import (for tax reasons).
If you did ship in a timely fashion, surely you have some documentation to support that.

I assume that Entrapment is 16mm. Or is it a 35mm print?

yes i have all documentation
also we work differently in south africa.u cant just export films especially 35mm .u need an export permit, which i dont have.that is why it took so long.they checked each and everything that goes to usa for security reasons.
and with a name like mine they are even more cautious.
some of the movies have already arrived in usa.
the route from sa to usa is cape town-jhb-london-usa
i sent evryhting normal economy cargo, which means it goes ona plane if there available spae.its cheaper as well.
its easier to receive goods than to send out of the country.
this government wants a piece of evrything u sell.
does that answer your question?
entrapment is35mm

Hi everyone-- I purchased (and have received) one of Naushad's prints. I posted some comments on Jeff's 35mm Forum. I am reprinting my post here, for the possible benefit of anyone who has also ordered (or is thinking of ordering) from Mr. Mohamed:
"Hi all-- Well, I went to see Ally & pick up the SATAN'S SKIN print. It was a great pleasure meeting Ally- he is a super nice & knowledgeable guy, & it was GREAT fun talking to him. We discussed quite a few "film" topics-- a real pleasure. As for the SATAN print: As you all know, the beginning & end of reels are where there is most likely to be heavy damage, and this print is no exception. As Jeff stated, the leaders were missing/torn from most of the reels (not an insurmountable problem for me-- leaders can be replaced). Sadly, though, there appears to be a few seconds' worth of actual footage missing at the start of each reel. There is probably a similar amount of footage missing from the ends of the reels, too. This is a real shame, but I certainly wouldn't let it stop me from buying a film that I REALLY wanted badly-- as was the case here. As I recall, Naushad stated in the original listing that these films had splices/scratches. Also, since this particular (low-budget) film was released in 1970, I already fully expected that most surviving prints would be scratchy & splicey after 30+ years of use. So the print condition was not a shock. Yes, there are definitely problems with it-- but am I sorry I bought it? Absolutely not. I don't know how most of you other collectors would feel about it-- y'all tend to hold much higher standards than I do (and there's obviously nothing wrong with that). As for myself, I've always felt that a "worn print" is a lot better than "no print at all", if it's a film I really love-- but I know many would disagree with my viewpoint. I also think that the high shipping cost would be a deterrent for many-- but after all, these prints are coming from halfway across the world. I'd been looking for a print of this title here in the U.S., and had no success whatsoever-- so I am glad to have this one, worn or not. And the color is still VERY good. I hope that you other buyers will be happy with your prints when they arrive. Sometime in the new year, I intend to start doing some restorative work on the SATAN print-- cleaning, lubricating & fixing splices, etc. It'll probably take a while, but some day I'm sure I can get it into pretty good shape. Bottom line: I am VERY happy with the print I purchased from Naushad, & have sent payment for a second title. As Jeff pointed out, it amounts to a judgment call-- all factors considered, is it worth it to you personally? In my case: yes it is. I'm looking forward to hearing what you other buyers have to say when you get your prints. I wish everybody here a wonderful 2003... Best, Doug" I hope this will provide some reassurance to anyone who is expecting prints from Naushad-- I expect you will all be receiving your prints shortly. There are apparently a lot of factors at work here that caused delays. To anyone who is considering buying from Naushad-- weigh out all the factors (Customs clearance/shipping time, total cost vs. print condition), & make an informed decision. If you DO order, I hope you are happy with your film(s), as I am. Best to all, Doug
