Thanks for the inquires on Lists... I dont have lists..
many people email with genres they like and then I suggest
titles.. eventually ill do lists if I dont sell out what i have before
then,, the problem is I get calls and emails so i end up packing
orders and the lists get delayed.. also people visit.. so what
I have this week can change next week...sorry about that..
butjust to post is a major deal for me..Ill try to post some set
sale stuff on the for sale part.. however Ebay is good as I allow
the buyers to set the price they sell for...anyway thanks again for the requests
and I will do my best to get some lists or at least some small
ideas of titles..Best, Tom

Hi Tom,
Why not just go into the room where the films are stored and write down the titles that you see on the film leader, cans or cases? Then you can tell us what you have, and we can tell you what we want?
If you can do that, I'd be interested in seeing a list of titles as well. MichaelCoffin@mccci.com.
Thanks.

I will do that but orders get priority... and so I have to do this
in between orders...
we sell Movie memorabilia in general so besides films
we have books and posters and we make some products..
so it will have to happen when I find the time... however If someone
buys a lg lot it may never see a list... that happens too..
so please if i have something you need email.. if not there
are many fine dealers on the list that sell on ebay ,post, etc...
and they focus strickly on film.....
thanks again for the interest.
best, Tom

Hi Tom,
I'm looking for a lot of titles, how would I know if you have them unless you know what you have?
Maybe I'm just not getting it, but how can you take orders (which "take priority" over documenting what you have) without knowing what it is that you have?
I may even be interested in buying "a large lot", but unless I know what it is that you are selling that's also impossible.
Do you see my problem here Tom? It's like saying "I have 500 comic books for sale" and not saying which ones. You may have a whole bunch that I'd like, but I have no way of knowing that. If I send you an individual title of one that I might want, you're then going to weed through the 500 titles looking for it - and I guess you are going to do this for EVERY title request you receive. Wouldn't that time be better spent just inventorying your lot so you can A) let people know what you have, B) cross reference title requests against a list instead of physically inspecting the lot for every individual title request?
Thanks in advance Tom.

I have to agree with Mike ... You are the one selling the films and you expect us to come up with a want list? I've got over 1000 films in my collection, I buy stuff whenever I see something interesting -- I am not going to try to think of every title I might be interested in and tell you about it. It's impossible -- plus, do you really want to go through dozens of lists containing hundreds of titles to figure out if you have what people are looking for?
I sell a lot of items myself and making a list is not that big of a deal. It's part of doing business.
You would sell a lot more of your film if you told people what it is you are selling.

I suggested you send want lists as we may have something
you would like.. will i go through boxes just to quote..NO...
If you dont have want lists fine.. You can wait for me to either
list on this site or Ebay.. or you can like people do all year long
ask me if I have such and such... its that simple..If you cannot
understand that orders that are certain take priority I have nothing
I can add.. I mentioned that we have a lot of items , ..
and as you can see people are keeping me busy with orders
so as soon as I think I can do a list another order comes in...
sorry that I can only serve so many at a time...I can feel your frustration.. however ,
lucky for you many have lists so until I get one please support the other Dealers
that have Lists.!
all good things<

Ok Tom - I'll send you my want list. It'll take a while as I need to first go to IMDB and cut and paste the title of every movie ever filmed from 1903-2003 - it's only a hundred years, but of course I want them all!
Geez!
When you are done with your "orders that are certain" maybe you'll post the list of titles you wish to sell here (although I'm still having problems with the whole concept of "orders that are certain" when you don't seem to even know what you have....).

Ok, thanks for clarifying.
I too would like to give you my want list. I 'want' every single feature length movie ever made, so long as it is in mint condition. I will pay $10 for any and every feature length movie you have that meets that description.
Please let me know where to send my cheque.
Thanks,
John

Your posts in responce to my intial post are tainted with
sarcasm and negativity... I responded to your inquires and explaining
my delimma. Not only have you made statements that have shown
a lack or understanding for your fellow man, you have clearly shown
me and people in this forum exactly why this hobby has disintregrated
into what it has...When I started in this business in 1977 it wasnt
high tech,, we didnt have ebay, or interenet, so it was people one
one that had a mutual love for film..Now then came along people
that became so anal about every aspect most dealers left the biz..
the countless arguements about condition, the name calling, spreading
rumors..Yes there are many people that misrepresent the condition
and content etc... thats why selling film can be laborious, you have to inspect it
and wonder if it is timed right, what stock etc.. But you all know this
so why would you hassle a fellow dealer or any person for that matter?
You main issue seems to be that I dont have a list
and you find that peculier... well since you dont seem to know of me
anyway, we have got along fine without each other all these years
so please take your business elsewhere If my service is not to
your liking... when the time comes the films will be offered.. If you treat
dealers or people like you have to me in these posts.. with demeaning statements
Lucky for me there are some fantastic collectors that are sharing, Kind, and considerate
thats the only reason I can figure why 26 years later Im still here..
I hope everyone reads and re- reads these posts to get a lesson in how not to
treat fellow people in the Hobbie... I told you I had no lists, I explained why,
I have not done anything but not have the time to make a list.. and that deserves ridicule?
Ok heres one for you.... are we all going to be alive a year from now? are your
children safe from terrorist attack? How many people will die in The IRAQ war?
where is OSama Bin Laden? and are they going to release Small pox on the US..
excuse me but instead of insulting a Movie dealer,, why not start taking Inventory
on whats important like your family! sorry this has caused me to stumble in my
productive speed...when they start blowing up US lanmarks people and all that
tends to make me stresed and Jumpy.... and irratated.... and to not really put
a major concern on what film I have in stock, my full inventory etc...
To me its a blessing to see my son and to be able to see sunlight,,, If you can
sit and make lists while all this is happening around you.... God bless You.
Its been difficult for me...But I do my best,,,,,
Now let me get back to work as its Sunday night and Im going to be working with my orders until probably 3 am and I am not to inspired.. actually you may have helped
get my blood goin... No more emails relating to this please.
best, Tom... go see the site...you can see some of our products... www.Hollywooddreamfactory.com

How very strange.
First of all, thanks for the link.
Second, I wasn't being sarcastic. I was quite serious. I just bid $4,000 on ebay for 400 feature length movies, sight unseen.
I am quite happy to pay $10 a copy for a feature length movie. That was a serious offer, not a joke.
If you post a message saying "Hey, I have bunch of movies for sale." and then won't list what movies you have for sale, what condition, and what price, how can you be surprised anyone is a little confused?
I'll check out your link, thanks for the information.

Tom,
I know nothing about you, other than you say you have 500 16mm films for sale, but won't say what they are. So let's trade places for a minute. I'll be the seller (you) and you be the buyer (me).
Some guy comes along and says he has 500 16mm films for sale. You are a collector, you might be interested in buying some of these films, but the seller won't tell you what films he has for sale. Isn't that (to say the least) frustrating to you as a buyer?!?!
Now I'm the seller. I have these 500 films that I want to sell. What's the first thing I should do? Take an inventory of what I have to sell so that I can tell people.
If you think this hobby "...has disintegrated...", maybe you should rethink the cause of this. Expecting your fellow collectors to play guessing games about what films you might be selling is a waste of everyone's time. I, for one, will "take my business elsewhere" as you suggest.

Ratcliff- rewad your post you asked for features for 10.00
in mint condition.... Perhaps you may find someone with
titles never heard of however I doubt that you would get them
on ebay.unless the condition or titles are bad.. so you make no sense
and you post tells all..... You are actually sounding quite foolish.
and how do you draw a line in my posts of anything other than
I said I have films.. I wasnt soliciting offers... when people inquired
I said I dont have lists but would be happy to see if I had what they
might be interested in...again there is nothing to debate..
what amazes me is the attitude and i havent sold you a thing...
Part of being a seller is to also feel comfortable with who your dealing
and I must say if we are argueing about a list !!!... why would you
continue to contact me or even want a list.. I can see from you side and a few others
That you dont have a good feeling about dealing with me anyway.. so why
continue.. ? Youve already made your judgements and expressed it in these posts
Perhaps your opinions will sway others not to wait for my lists..:)
or they will spend all their money before I make one.. Or maybe all the
film will go red or vinegar before i get a list...:) maybe DVD will
make everyone abandon film..If you truly bought 400 features on Ebay for 4000.00
whats that tell you about the hobby ???.. we sold a print of" Dumbo"so/so-color eastman
mixed with it seemed ib/tech for 250.00 about a week ago which i thought was a deal .We have a beautiful
fuji scope print Of " Alein" 650.00 plus shipping/
most of the reels we have would be 40.00 and up...
I suggest You shop Ebay sounds like you dont need any of the films we have.
I cannot beat ten for a feature... sorry...:)
Thanks for giving the old Movie memorabilia dealer some Laughs...:)

Tom,
I didn't say I won the auction for 400 films, I just bid $4,000 on it. The seller is looking for $14,000. I have no intention of going that high.
It sounds like you have an excellent understanding of the going rate for films on Ebay.
Good luck with your sales.
Thanks,
John

Michael - I think you and Ratcliff should go work on the Un inspection team
and get Saddam to make a list for you off where hes hideing the Bombs.
First.. I said I have posters, projectors, books, magazines, and film memorabilia
from pre cinema to recent...
Since some people have bought from us over 26 years.. they know we have stuff
and call and ask or email... many times i don have.it... after all these years
I am aware that most dealers are in the same position I am as for what they have.. matter of fact there are few left.. what most are doing is ebay and listing afew at at time...
I havent been able to list on ebay in two years.. same problem,, orders..
I am as surprised as you are .. how does one get orders.. well ... I try to d a really good job
and I work slow.. In my lifetime I noticed that good meals , watches, and companies
moved slow... about anything fast useually is lacking... so wqhen i pack aorder
I go overboard... and i give lainyappe which is extras.. with the order..
so my service has slowed. but my ratio of quality customers has grown..
For me the rewards have been I have customers in Austria , Germany, England,
and I am working on a order for Japan and several USA customers..
If I could figure a way to clone or hire like mined to do the work I would...
however,I am not selling fruit... and if you wish to take you business elsewher
because i am not ready to make a list fine..
I didnt ask you to buy anything sight unseen, I asked what material you wanted.
all you have to do is go to the otheres and spend you $ and maybe down the road I will\
have some offerings...
this whole interplay really has been a diversion... and I cannot email any of you on this subject
as I have lost work time already... You must have plenty of idle time on your hands
to write these ridiculous emails... why dont you spend it seeking film from Guys with lists
or 5.oo fesatures on ebay...
why i am even adreesing this foolishness cracks me Up..
.
