Hi. I'm a student pilot and I recently heard about a 16mm film series that was put out by Shell Oil Corporation many years ago. The series of consisted of several films about aeronautics (test flights, studies of aerodynamics, supersonic flight, etc). The one in particular that I'm looking for has footage of a plane covered in pieces of yarn, in flight. The yarn pieces were used to show airflow over the different parts of the plane. Has anyone heard of anything like this?? I'm waiting on a reply from Shell Oil and I have no idea where to look next. Just the name of this series would be extremely helpful.
