I have recently purched a Soney LCD Data Projector at a school auction and i dose not work. I beleive that the lamp is bad. Does any one have a manual for this type of a machine? It is a Soney LCD Data Projector Mdl VPL-V500. I need to know 1) how to remove and replace the lamp, 2) how to operate the machine.

I just saw a replacement lamp for this unit the other day on a website for $328.00

I usually don't buy old LCD projectors at auctions, since they usually have had lots of rough hours on them and repairs could easily exceed the value left in them.

Hi Richard probably the best thing to do is to try a few repair spots for these, you can usually pick up a bulb with many hours still on it for a fraction of the new price if lucky.
Also I know on some machines if the filter is out or not clean the lamp may not start up.
Good buy at the price though as I believe they are a reasonable machine, worth a go, good luck,
