Hi Folks,

As many of you know, I have a Sharp PG-M20X DLP projector. I've had nothing but praise for this machine since I bought it nearly a year ago, and it's never given me a bit of trouble.

This past Saturday night I had some friends over to screen Matrix Reloaded and guess what? The bulb wouldn't light (it's a 2000 hour bulb with less than 100 hours on it). Naturally, I was not amused - had to cancel the show. :(

The machine has a 3 year parts and labor warranty on it. I called Sharp this morning, fully expecting the typical "big company" run around. You can imagine my surprise when they offered to Fed-X me a free loaner machine immediately, and send me shipping tags to return my unit to them to diagnose and repair the problem! They could not have been more accomodating! When they offered me a free loaner I started to tell them I couldn't wait days/weeks for a replacement as I have plans to use it, especially with Thanksgiving in 4 days - I never even got to finish before they told me "Oh no, we're going to send it Fed-X priority overnight, you'll have the replacement in the morning"!

It is very rare indeed these days to find a company that is so considerate of it's customers' needs. The Sharp PG-M20X is an outstanding DLP projector which I highly recommend, and now that I've had an opportunity to avail myself of Sharp's Customer Service - I recommend it unconditionally.

I had the same experience as Mike, only with Infocus. I think the difference here is that they are dealing mostly with a professional business customer base and to be competitive they have to be able to replace hardware overnight. Most of their customers are pros giving audio visual presentations who require that kind of service.
