Hi Folks,
If you are interested in trying a digital video system but afraid of the "big price", take a look at Dell's latest package (page 34 of their current circular - I could not find this on their website).
A Dell 2200MP single chip DLP projector (1700:1 contrast ratio, 1200 lumens, all the usual good quality features), Panasonic 5 disc DVD/CD changer with progressive scan, 500 watt Dolby Digital 5.1 receiver with 5 satellite speakers and a 170 watt subwoofer (which I assume is powered, but verify first) - all for $1,149!!! That's an outstanding value!
While I haven't used any of these component personally, the specs look pretty good (what I've been able to find, at least). To put things in perspective, my 1900 lumen single chip DLP projector ALONE cost $2500 new 11 months ago - forget about all the additional gear.
Just thought I'd pass this one. And remember, if you buy one and need a large screen - contact me for the Rockland Industries Blackout screen material! :)
