Ole,

It might help some of us that might have lamps if you could give us more than the p28s designation such as the three letter ASA code for the lamp or the make and model of the machine you're trying to re-lamp.

I agree with John on this one. We need to known the make and model of the projector or the 3 letter ANSI code of the lamp.

Hi guys!

Thanks for your replies...

I cannot seem to find any ANSI codes for this exact bulb. I know that they were made by Narva (East Germany), but maybe they are also found in the American market?

I know that the ANSIs of the similar (althoug 120V) bulbs are:

BTN
BTP
DDB
DGH
EGG
EGF

...All of these I believe are 120Volts...

Hmmm.... the P28 indicates a 'medium prefocus' base. Sure sounds like a "DDB" bulb to me. Again, what make and model of projector is this for? 8mm, 16mm, filmstrip, slides?

You can interchange 110 volt and 120 volt bulbs without worry. Perhaps your 110 volt bulb is old. Modern standards brand bulbs at 120 volts.

The 120 volt lamp will last a little bit longer with very little loss of lamp output.

In the old days you had to specify what your local power company provided to your wall outlets and then, one would purchase the correct voltage lamp. The ANSI code should be on top of the lamp in most cases.

A DDB lamp looks like this ..
