I'm looking for 16mm film rollers like the kind on a flatbed or similar. I'm fabricating a looper for an art installation and will need more than I've got.

Thanks
Thad

Hi Thad,

I needed a bunch of rollers at one time and found that buying "brand new" rollers was INCREDIBLY expensive. What I did was buy up some multi-gang synchronizers on eBay (which will have between 2 and 4 rollers per track) then just stripped the rollers off, nice cheap way to get rollers (but you do end up trashing a synchronizer). :)

Try lavezzi:

their model AOR2-25 ($13 each) is used for the base (not the emulsion) side of the film; some rollers on flatbeds are designed to touch the emulsion side of the film, and they will have 'ridges' on them that only contact the emulsion ouside the picture and soundtrack areas. If you need to make contact with the emulsion side of the film, you are much better off going the route Michael suggested and cannibalizing a synchronizer or similar.

Good luck!
