I need a heat filter to put in my 16mm xenon projector. If anyone has an extra, or knows of a reasonably priced source, please let me know. My projector is a Hokushin X-500, but I don't need one made for this model, I will kludge in whatever I can find.
If I can't find one, there will be no B&W films at my outdoor movies. ;-(

Well, the request for one made me recall the best encounter with stupidity I ever had.
One of my neighbors had some films he wanted to show, he knew how to work projectors and I had loaned him a Telex Marc many times before.
This Telex Marc had 4 hours remaining on the bulb and they stopped making them earlier in the month, my advice to him was to toss out the unit when he was done.
He set up a grand 'ol show, started off with some Kodachrome home movies and kept it up for about 1hr.30, all of a sudden he loaded a 400' reel, I thought this odd as all of his stuff was on 50'-200' reels, tiny films.
He ran that 400' reel, it was nitrite stock, I recall hearing a pop, then seeing a burning front reel.
It took 2 extiguishers to douse it.
Too bad I didn't video tape it, I'll bet I coulda sold copies.
With respect to the heat filter, I have found them at camera stores who have held on to 16, in CA Cameramart in Northridge had one early this year although depending on who you speak with, they can be very rude :(
