I'm trying to find an unreleased Universal 35mm "movie short" filmed on October 20th, 1955, in Brooklyn, Ohio.

It was intended to be a mini-documentary on popular Cleveland DJ Bill Randle, who passed away a few months ago. It featured live performances by Bill Haley & The Comets, Pat Boone, Elvis Presley & The Four Lads.

Possible titles are:

1. Top Jock

2. A Day in the Life of a Famous DJ (or Disc Jockey)

3. The Pied Piper of Cleveland

4. Or a combo of "The Pied Piper of Cleveland - A Day in the Life of a Famous DJ (or Disc Jockey)".

5. A Day in the Life of a Pop Star.

The film was never released commercially.

The rumor is Bill Randle paid for the developing/processing and had a work print made. It's possible that the footage was bought up when film vault labs in the area were closing. Thought I'd check here.

Sincerely,
Chris K.

What you need is a miracle! If the film was never released commercially, one can only hope that in the last 50 years, a single print or working footage still exists in storage, an attic or basement or perhaps in a commercial building somewhere. To say it's a long shot would be an understatement.

I would think Bill Randle's family may have information about this project---he used to say most of them were in the Detroit area.

Good luck!!
