Uhm....my dot... it is GONE! I don't see any green dots anymore?

If you are referring to the green dot next to your name, it means you are "online".

If you are referring to the green BOX that was appearing to the right of the screen, that provided "reputation" information and it appears to be gone now.

Note: A dot is round, a box is square.......... :)

OK - so I need to go back to school and learn about circles and squares - lol! Smack me with a ruler! I guess you deserve an apple today, Professor Coffin!:) I guess since film reels are round, that shape is on my mind.
Yes, I was referring to the square, which ironically is gone, as you agreed.

[QUOTE=Dave Harris] Really? Which one; the one run by the Texas fascist or the east coast dictator?

Both, because neither have a "Reputation-O-Meter." But let me add this to assuage an apparently fragile ego-- your site is the best, even if it is a tad judgmental of others.

I said more info later, later has come.

I have placed information on the reputation feature in the FAQ section. Look to that section for the most current info on the Reputation feature. Things will probably change as we gain experience with the feature.

Here is the scheme the server uses to determine a member's reputation altering power.

Administrators follow same rules as everyone else.

Users start with a rating score of 10. Users have reputation- altering power of one point. When "good" is selected the author's reputation is increased one point. When "poor" is selected, one point is deducted. It is possible to have a negative score. The higher the score the better. It's an indication as to how members consider your posts. If your score is negative then consider seeking outside help. :)
.
Reputation-altering power will change as follows:
Register Date Factor:
For every 365 days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
Post Count Factor:
For every 100 posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
Reputation Point Factor:
For every 50 points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.
Minimum Post Count:
A user must have 50 posts before his reputation hits count on others.
Minimum Reputation Count:
A user must have a score of 10 before his reputation hits count on others.

I have placed information on the reputation feature in the FAQ section.

I looked. It doesn't seem like it. This will affect your reputation you know. :p

Talk about hidden! It didn't add any new information though.

That's odd - the only Texas fascist I know of is in the White House now.
(Barrage of angry negatives to follow immediately...)

I can see why some of the members may find the idea of this new feature to be destructive. As Dave said, let's keep an open mind. I find no immediate threat within his proposal, and I'm sure that if it does become a problem, Dave will simply disable the feature.
Let's all cool off, shall we? ;)

Normally I would be all over this one, but as I'm paying $3 a gallon on my way home fascist doesn't come to mind it's more like good ole boy! My car and I are ready for a new president.

Dave - my suggestion - drop this reputation thing. It brings nothing to the table and is distressing to members of the forum.

I fail to understand what the big hub-bub is or continues to be. Seems like some of us are worrying or jumping to negative conclusions which have not yet occured!
