We picked up a nice Bausch & Lomb Cinemascope Lens, but the seller failed to mention an adapter ring would be needed.

So, we need an Adapter Ring for a JAN Projector, the spec sheet with the lens shows the following size ring is required:

Cat. No. 51-89-53 (Bausch & Lomb)
Diam.: 2.062"
Length: 1-1/2"

Any body know of one for sale??

Thanks!

... the seller failed to mention an adapter ring would be needed....

Hi Kevin,

Did you actually tell the seller you wanted to use the lens on a JAN and did he indicate it would work?

I only ask because you say the "seller failed to mention..." - but unless you made a specific inquiry about whether this lens would work on your particular machine, why would a seller "mention" it in the first place?

Mike:
This is their eBay description:

"This is a vintage Bausch & Lomb 16mm CinemaScope 2" Projection Lens. This lens can be used with many popular 16mm projectors such as Bell &Howell, Eastman Pageant, Ampro Premier, RCA, Victor and JAN. It is an anamorphic lens that produces a fun-house effect by widening or distorting the image. The item is new, in original packaging with instructions and care booklet"

They currently have another of the same lens on eBay at:

Hi Kevin,

While the seller is correct in that it CAN be used with just about ANY make/model projector (due to it's very narrow barrel design) - it is a little misleading to not even mention that an adaptor sleeve is needed.

I would be a little suspect of any seller that thinks a scope lens is used to '...produce a fun-house effect....' myself. :)

ICECO in Miami has these rings (but they charge a fortune for them). Omer Whayne probably has them as well, and he's usually more reasonably priced.
