I have been trying to reach the forum administrator. When I click on "Contact Us" it directs my email carrier to send a message to "admin@efilmforum.com"
but sent messages bounce back. I have also tried a private message to Dave Harris to no avail.
Help!

What's the KICK message you're getting when emailing to "admin@efilmforum.com"? What's the problem with PM... I check this forum no less than 5 times a day..............

I tried PM last week without response--I will try using a different email service to try again. Thanks

I just sent another email to admin@efilmforum.com and it bounced with the following header:
(ultimately generated from admin@efilmforum.com)
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<good@film-center.com>:
host mail.film-center.com [66.235.200.169]: 550-rejected because
66.235.219.114 is in a black list at bl.spamcop.net
550 Blocked - see http://www.spamcop.net/bl.shtml?66.235.219.114

Hi Evan,
What mail provider are you using? It looks like they've been blacklisted as a spam site. You'll probably want to contact them and see if they can fix it..
This is a general problem that seem to happen a lot these days -- real email gets clobbered as spam.

I used my work email first, then Yahoo. Can't imagine why Yahoo domain would be blocked.

This is a subject that gets my blood boiling. I'm having a similar problem with my email hosted at godaddy.com. They are bouncing messages because they contain links to URL's they claim are phishing sites. Then they tell me to go to spamhous.org to resolve the problem, they don't support the resolution process. And I can't turn the filtering off, it's at the server level. To quote Spock, "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few". The problem is they're bouncing stuff that is clean. I have a friend, who can email me just fine, unless he puts "www.ebay.com" anywhere in the body of the message. Do that, and the message gets bounced. eBay is a known phisher? STOOPID.
I told them the only thing I'm going to do is find a new mail hosting service. Anyone have any recomendations? I'm looking at 1and1.com
This is a REAL problem and is rendering email useless. I hate the stoopid black lists.
Steve, that's probably why you weren't able to email me a few months ago. Some stupid black list problem that was false.

Yup - stupid, poorly conceived "SPAM filters" are making email less and less dependable. The WORST ones are the ones that simply throw what they THINK is SPAM away, without notifying either the sender or intended recipient. So the sender THINKS his email was delivered properly, and the intended recipient has no idea the sender was trying to contact him in the first place.
There's no question that SPAM is a problem, but poorly conceived SPAM filters are a problem of equal proportion. And don't even THINK about putting a SPAM filter in place unless you have a means of quickly and easily resolving problems YOU create with your filters/process.
AOL used to be one of the worst offenders, I don't know if they still are. They would block incoming mail from just about EVERYBODY, and when you called them to complain they'd tell you "You wouldn't have these problems if you had an AOL account, why don't I sign you up?"!!!!

I understand, AOL is evil, yada, yada. All I know is I've had AOL for 10 years and I have none of the problems that I hear people complain about. I get very little to no spam, no pop-ups, it scans for spyware every time I sign on and there is a folder for blocked spam so you can check out what you're not getting. I use another company's DSL to connect so I pay a little over $10 for AOL. I got no complaints.

AOL causes me no grief at all. I have it for three years now.
I also PM Dave Harris once in while and he always answers within hours.:)

Jim, you got little to no spam because AOL's filters are/were over aggressive. I agree with Mike 100% here. I'm not saying AOL is evil, but for a time last year they were a bitch to get email into. It was a problem for everyone else to get to you. It got to a point where I had to modify my auction terms to say "If you are on AOL YOU must Email ME because I can't reach you" (of course NOBODY followed my instructions). It got to a point where 50% of my email to AOL was rejected, with NO notice to either the sender or recipient. AOL has changed, and their filters have been made less aggressive so I don't have that problem anymore.
Mike, I'm testing services with 1and1.com now. In my first round of tests they are not blocking any of the mail I am having trouble with through godaddy. Since my email service account period is up in February, I'll probably transfer my domain and email service to 1and1, where it even costs 50% less than godaddy. Seems like a no-brainer to me.
I created a new domain yesterday with 1and1 for $6 (for 1 year) and it came with one free 1gb email account. Amazing... your own domain and email for $6! The last time I did this 3 years ago it was like $50 for the first year (registration + email service). Remember a few years back when this was a hundred+ per year! My test email account is mail-at-mb984.com if anyone wants to try emailing it.

Maybe because there are more "emails" than "eFemails" on here!:D

Hi Jeff,
Those prices are good, and yup - I recall when registering a domain was an expensive proposition. :)

50% of my e-mails that I send to ANY of my friends/colleagues who have an AOL account usually come back as "undeliverable" ... I then call them up and ask "Have you changed your AOL e-mail address?" ... "No" ... Can I decypher the "error codes" that come back to me? ... No .... Has my e-mail been delivered ... No ...I'm not sure how all the "zeros and ones" line up, but look up "anti-productive" in the Yellow Pages and you'll find AOL's address and phone number....

Don't know what to tell you. I've had AOL for 10 years and never had a problem. Are there thousands of people out there who can't get in touch with me? Could be, but I think sooner or later something would have gotten through. I have never had anyone tell me that they sent me something and I didn't get it. I deal with a lot of different folks. I know all you big "tech" guys like to look down your nose at AOL users. It works just fine for me and I'll just sit here and enjoy all the posts complaining about how the spam I don't get is rendering email unusable.

I had some friends that I could not email on AOL for a while because AOL was bouncing my email. After about a year, AOL suddenly unblocked my ISP.
