I just found out through a UK buyer that Western Union BidPay has ceased! I went to the website and it is indeed confirmed. Even though they were making money on it, WU eliminated the service. This makes it tougher for foreign buyers to pay for eBay items if Paypal is not offered.
I have mentioned before how I refuse to give Paypal my checking account routing information to get verified. A good friend found out his Paypal account was compromised--and money was removed from his checking account without his permission!

You don't need to have a PayPal account to pay using a credit card these days (UNLESS the seller has restricted your ability to pay directly with a credit card, I'm sure some stupid sellers have done this).
When the seller sends you a request for payment, it takes you to a screen on PayPal where you should be able to either login, or pay directly via credit card without having a PayPal login. Choose this option, so long as you are having the item shipped to the same address you have your credit card statements sent I believe it will be reported as a Verified address (because it is, your credit card company verified it as so).
Shame about BidPay, I RARELY used it - but it was nice to have as an alternate to PayPal for those rare times when a customer wouldn't/couldn't use PayPal.

I'm verified with Paypal and they do not have my bank account details.
When I pay or sell and Paypal used no problems.

Every time I wanted to get verified status on Paypal, they request my checking account number and routing information. Unless they have changed their policy. If that information falls into the wrong hands, someone could clean out your account very easily with little recourse. At least with a credit card, you can have fraudulent charges taken off your account. I had thought of opening a dummy account at another bank, but with the outrageous fees banks charge for small accounts, and if Paypal withdrew an amount that drew the balance in the account too low, I would be faced with other high fees.
I had Paypal for a long time--when they just wanted my credit card number.

I absolutely refuse to get "verified" on paypal. It is nothing but a ruse to get your bank info. To hell with 'em. They have yet to give me a good reason to get "verified".
I use just my credit card. Of course, they give you a spending limit in order force you to get "verified". When I reach my "spending limit", I close my papal account and re-open with another one. So far it has worked.

They've had my bank information for nearly five years. Haven't lost a penny yet.

What you don't understand is the verification isn't for you, it's for ME. It's so I have some level of confidance that the person I'm dealing with is who he says he is.
