A little background first:
A dear friend of mine and fellow theater theater technician, Paul Thompson, passed away suddenly in July 2004 of a heart attack. He was a great guy and worked in many theaters both as a projectionist and as a technician. He was at one time a member of the projectionists union, too. One of the local theater owners commisioned this beautiful plywood 'cutout' mural of Paul as a tribute to a great theater tech who did everything possible to keep the show on the screen. This cutout mural is located in a sheltered area right next to the theater building entrance doors. The theater owner was very grateful for the many times Paul fixed things in the booth. This is his way of providing a lasting tribute to Paul and the community he loved.
