Cake or Pie?

Personally, I fall stongly in favor of pie. Apple, cherry, strawberry-rhubarb - it's all good. Cake is just sort of 'there' and I have no particularly strong feelings for any kind of cake (except for cheesecake - which is really more of a pie, anyway. It was probably named by someone who felt bad for cake and wanted to give cake an unfair advantage in the race against an obviously superior dessert. Really, it's bad enough that cake seems to have taken over the birthday celebration.)

Pumpkin, apple, and pecan pie are my favorites, topped with vanilla ice cream. YUM!
