We pick up one or two new members each day. How did they find us? Please tell me where it was or how it happened that you found eFilmForum. Was a link on film-center? eFilmcenter? or what? For many of you, can you remember that far back. I want to know so that I can possibly increase our ranks. Unlike other forums our server automatically deletes those who have not logged in within the last 180 days ---- and we delete the many who try to join with users names like "moviecrazy69" -- all reasons why our membership count hovers around 600. I'd like to see it hover at a higher number. Back to the question, tell me how you got here. Thanks

A friend of mine at work was telling me about how much he was selling 16mm home movies for on ebay so I did a search on 16mm. When I say all of those old films, I went nuts like a little kid. Now comes the part where you guys got lucky, I did a search on yahoo and found this forum. Now because of this forum I'm addicted to $1 movies, built a movie theater in my basement and no longer have any money. I copied then sold my entire cd collection to fund my addiction. I'm always looking for ways to buy more films, like in one of my other posts I described how my mother-in-law just bought me a film for my birthday which isn't until March. It was a war movie, what can I say. When I was at home sick from work, I finally had time to clean a movie and when I say how much better it looked, I started cleaning all of them. I can't stop. HELP!

First reply from the newest member. I was connected to the site through an internet search for information to repair the drive lugs on some home sound movie (super8) of my now deceased grandfather. I will open a separate post with that question. Maybe someone on this site will be able to help me resolve this problem.

Boy Dave, you REALLY are making us put on the thinking cap tonight!

I honestly can't recall, it may have been a Google search - or it might have been one of my fellow local MA collectors (Steve Sigel, Ed Hurley, Steve Stanziani and others) - it's been a LONG time now. :)

Well Mike, you will have to think a little harder as you were on the forerunner to this site well before Google was even a spark in the eyes of its writer.

I got on the original site, run by Dave's father way back in 1999 but have no idea how I discovered it.

Peter.

This is an easy question to answer, Dave and it brings back fond memories.
I told Richard Haines that I want to start collecting films.
He came over, logged on your site for me and signed me up!
All I did was come up with a password and add this wonderful forum to my favorite places.
Now....I am hooked!
:)

(Pardon the off topic response everyone but Dave asked and he is KING here :) )

Rich is tying up the loose ends on "Soft Money". Now all we need is to find a distributor and make some money!

(Thanks for asking Dave)

A good collector friend of mine loaned me a print of an educational film I had been looking for. When I asked him how and where he got it, he told me that it was posted for sale (along with an entire educational library) on eFilmForum.com

....the rest is history....

I was looking for a site where, besides collecting 16mm films, I could talk off-topic about what color socks my alcoholic pets were wearing.

I found this while perusing *********. It is a good find. I enjoy it very much.
As to the color of Mike's socks, are we sure he wears any at all?

I was trying to find out how to pass on some old 35mm nitrate prints my dad had, and google told me about you. I have learned a lot and done nothing with the films yet.

I think I was simplying googline or yahooing 16mm, 16mm film or something like that. Whether that took me directly here or to film-center first I'm not sure but I tend to think it was film-center. I used to spend a lot of time there but spend more time here these days. Do we have a link to film-center on efilmforum? I sometime forget the name.
