What kind of pets do you have?

I have an iguana, three HUGE Koi fish (in my living room), tropical fish, two parakeets and a cockatiel.

Gosh, I'm surprised that no one has posted in this thread. I hope we all aren't afraid to post in Linda's threads cuz of fear of getting lambasted!

With that in mind, I'll be brave and say:

I had a pet frog...but it croaked. :)

Not at all. I just got home.

We have a cat. Nothing fancy, just a "cat", a common american shorthair.

September 26th of last year we had to let our toy poodle go on to the Rainbow Bridge. :( Little Oscar was 17 1/2 years old. We have, as of today, purchased a new baby poodle and he's being flown in this Sunday afternoon.
Can't wait!!!

We have a dog, turtle, 5 birds plus 3 quail, and the resident skinks that are very cute.Ahhh yes to be downunder!! Then comes our dangerous little "pets" we have around the home such as white-tail spiders, red-back spiders and too many more. It's ok though, you just have to remember to check your shoes and shake out your clothes before putting them on.Anyone for a holiday in Australia? Cheers, Bruno

Bruno, pardon my asking, but what is a "skink"? Google returns it as a lizard. Lizards? Salamanders?

Because I let my grass get a little high, I have rabbits! I call him Bubba D. Bunny, he's safe in my yard from all the dogs. The problem is when he plays hid and seak. If I walk thru the yard he'll sit still till I'm almost on top of him. Then he's off at wrap speed to the next hiding spot. It's please call 911, I'm having a heart attack!!!
It's my punishment for what I did one summer, I cut the grass with out his permission. As I did it I would hear a thump? On the next pass I would see what I did. I hit one of the babies with the mower. BUT IT'S FREASH MEAT!!Kill it then Grill it I say!!!:D

Do beautiful women count as pets? Cause in that case, I let myself take them in and then have to let them go on a daily basis.

Four cats and a dog ..

Cat #1 - "Whispers". A calico bob-tail. Very squirrely. Keeps stealing my loose film leaders out of my playroom and spreads around the house.
Cat #2 - "Violet". A Blue tip siamese bob-tail. Looks like May West from the back when she walks.
Cat #3 - "Sue Ling". A brown siamese. Garage watchcat.
Cat #4 - "Cherokee". She is just plain crabby.

Dog - "Hiway". Queensland heeler mix. Deals with the cats well. Found her on the highway while on a Sunday drive. She was about 6 weeks old then but that was 13 years ago.

On the way over to Richards house my daughter says "Dad, guess what? When I grow up I'm going to buy my kids two rabbits." What do you think she is trying to tell me here? When we got home she started to put the pressure on my wife. I've got to be strong!

Your daughter is brilliant! :)
Why won't you let her get a rabbit??

My basement is finished, it's too cold in the garage and the only other place is in her room. She's working it, so you never know. When I told her to talk to her mother about it she said "so that's a maybe?" I said a very small maybe.

Oh, I understand now. I never had a "real" rabbit so I collect anything having to do with them! Keep us informed if you let her get one!

Me and my wife are cat lovers. One of our cats (a female) we had for 18 years, and she died of a growth in the stomarch. Then we had a part-ferral black&white tom cat that was one of a litter of 5 kittens that was dumped in a cardboard box outside a local vets in the middle of winter. He was a homely little guy, and very close to us as cats go. Last July (at the age of 3) after we let him out, some brain-dead shot at him with a pellet or dart gun and killed the little guy.

Now, we have a part-Bengal female (which we had from a kitten) from a Bengal breeder who lives local. She is now 6 months old, and, although she is a loving cat she is a right nutter and always into trouble. We keep this cat as a house-cat, this breed loves water and climing high, and can often be found on top of a wardrobe or wall cupboard fast asleep, or in the bathtub playing with the water.

If you would like to see what a Bengal looks like, use link below.

The Bengal breed originated in the USA, and the breed was developed by breeding a domestic Tabby with a wild Asian Leopard Cat. Like the wild ancester, our cat has a coat full of black spots on grey background, with tabby-like stripe markings to the head.
