Are ya ready for some football?????

Go Patriots!

Televised football began on October 22, 1939. NBC was the first network to televise a pro football game. The game began at 2:30 PM and ran for exactly two hours, thirty three minutes and ten seconds. Today, a football game runs for almost three hours.
Of course, there were no commercial interruptions during the 1939 game.

:( That was one sad game. I went to bed at 11:00 as I could NOT take it anymore. We SHOULD have WON but those IDIOTS ( )
made the wrong calls when the some of the plays were being reviewed!!!

I am a Cowboys fan too, since my beloved Drew Bledsoe is now playing for them.

Did the referee get the MVP award? This has to be the worst called Super Bowl that I've ever seen and I've seen em all! I think the flight home for the Seahawks is going to be a little uncomfortable, because they just got rear ended.

The game it's self stunk! By half time I was only watching for the TV comercials. The local radio station that plays the Rolling Stones, said the sound really sucked. (Jones for the Stones) But have no fear! Soon it will be time to "PLAY BALL!!!" So "Lets Go Mets!!"

The commercials were indeed entertaining! From Burger King to Budweiser!:D
I enjoyed the Stones concert as well! Mick can really dance.....to his own private beat!:p
At least I got to see Tom Brady again this year, during the coin toss!:)

I agree, the game sucked. I guess everyone had a good time here and the city put on a good show. I hope Detroit can keep it up even after the Super Bowl. Ford Field is top of the line and worth visiting just to see it. We've got a lot of great bars and of course gambling. Unfortunately, this city is corrupt and dysfunctional. Most of the people have left for the suburbs, including my black friends. I also agree, it's time for baseball! Spring training is in about two weeks and the Tigers look to improve with a new manager and a couple of old vets on the pitching staff to help the kids mature. I play on a team that finished 17th at the Worlds tournament last year and I also coach. I'm moving up to 9 and 10 year olds this year where they have kid pitch. Last year we were in the 7 and 8 year olds where it's coach pitch. I can't wait!

Just keep Kenny Rogers away from the cameramen!

Or: The quarterback fades back to...red?

I'm not ready for some football, having lost much interest decades ago, but am ready for some coach's Analyst -preferably an Analyst II, given that I'm not sure that Kodak's earlier model had continously variable speeds.(Gotta have that 20fps sweet spot for crude transfer to video)Here's hoping that screening of old 16mm home movies here will less painful in slo-mo, given that most of the takes were very short, due to the ever-present consciousness of the cost of shooting.
Nope, haven't watched a game in years, although do recall a strange attraction to Miami's star kicker, Ray Finkle*. I wonder if he ever hooked up with Minnesota's Gary Anderson, whose choke-under-pressure dashed the Viking's "We're Going To Miami!" hopes of several years ago...sigh...oh well, this is the place for off-topic stuff, innit'?

*aka Lt. Lois Einhorn/Sean Young of "Ace Ventura, Pet Detective" -great flick IMHO, although its use of a film threaded on a projector stored in an attic may have offended some film preservationists.

I hope to direct him to some of our sports writers!
