Pretty bizarre description---on the plus side, he's offering 2 complete edition silent cartoons for 9.99 and shipping only $6.65.....better than a lot of eBay sellers who think 100 ft headline editions are worth $50 and charge $10 to ship them.....

Hmmm....... I'm wondering if English is a second language for this seller.
Will collectors buy these for the boxes?

I collect home movie versions of cartoons and Castle boxes are the most common, so probably not. I don't bother with silent versions of sound cartoons anyway. I actually need to get rid of a few
The seller seems to be registered in the US and the rest of the description is written correctly, so I wonder why that portion is so robotic.

I have a box full of Castle 16mm titles, most in their original boxes. Are these worth anything? I'm not exactly sure of the subjects, I guess I should inventory it. I'm fairly sure there is nothing there I'm interested in, and I'd rather turn it into 35mm.

I'm not interested in "toy" films, but I understand from other collectors that there are people who do collect the boxes. Sometimes you can get more for the empty box than you can get for the film without a box.

I went and looked at some of their other auctions. Same style of description, but you're right Thomas, not quite so robotic and strange sounding as this one.
This cartoon dvd they're selling reminded my of a film I picked up at a rummage sale a few years ago, "Princess Knight". I think it was a print from a TV station.

Description
Rumiko Takahashi's beloved series about a young man (woman?) who turns into a young woman when he gets wet. In this, the first season of RANMA 1/2 (RANMA 1/2 TV SERIES), Ranma's affliction causes confusion when the owner of the Tendo Dojo, Soun Tendo, decides to engage one of his daughters to Ranma, the son of his friend Genma. However, when his daughters discover Ranma's quirk, they turn tail and run leaving their youngest sister Akane as the only available bachelorette.
Princess Knight had to masquerade as a boy in public and go into her secret room to wear her girl clothes. I wonder why the Japanese make these confused gender identity cartoons.
I sold it on eBay, but here are some pics of Princess Knight I still have on my hard drive.

You might be able to get a fair amount on eBay, though silent Castles are the bottom of the barrel as far as toy films are concerned. They were massed produced more than other toy films. Do you have anything non-Castle/non-Official?

Tom,
I'll have to go through the box and see what's there. I believe the 16mm Castle's are all sound prints.

Ah, sound Castles do have a bit of value depending on what they are. If you have any sound Terrytoons I need then I may be interested.
Check 'em out;)
