I joined this forum many moons ago but now I'll make it legal by sending an introduction message.
I am now retired after having worked in Photo Retail since 1957 . In those years I have accumulated many items which I am now in the process of disposing. This brings to mind a question, pricing.
In the Hardware for sale or trade section it states the price must be shown. I don't want to sell for too low a price but I also don't want to put a rediculis [sp] price either. HELP !

I usually sign as

Welcome - a bit late.

One thing you can do is look at Ebay and find the items you wish to sell. Check the history of such items and what they sold for. Condition is all important in judging what to ask.

If you are selling projectors, again Ebay history or look through older threads doing a search on this forum what others may have asked. Same is true for films.

If you are selling other items, (eg. cameras) Ebay or McKeowns book or other "blue book" types of guides exist.

Hope this might help. Others may have other ideas too.

Welcome, Francis. If you have any 8mm or 16mm cartoons from your retail days, I can give you a fair appraisal of them. Just drop me a line.
Yours,
Tom

David;
Thanks for the info, I have tried looking at ebay unfortunatly I have some items that I haven't seen there. I guess I should try the bay with a reserve.

Thomas;
I will get a list of the films I have out to you.

Hi Francis -

What kind of items are you trying to sell (outside those you found on Ebay)? There might be some other suggestions if I knew a bit more.

If you want to keep it private, send me a private message (PM).
