In the age of the DVD, there suddenly is a use for deleted scenes, and bloopers, and other footage cut from a film.

To all readers, what is the oldest example of deleted footage that you ever saw or know of?

Earliest examples I can think of come from the '60s.

Excluded are promotional things like interviews or alternate versions that were released.
Of course, not literally everything is interesting enough to be included in a release, but that is besides the point.

In terms of animation history, nearly all circulating versions of Disney's ALICE SOLVES THE PUZZLE (1925) are missing scenes of Bootleg Pete tempting Julius the Cat with alcohol, and with success, Julius becomes intoxicated and hallucinates.:D

While the deleted scenes exist as a home movie print, I have recently seen a sound reissue print with some of those scenes intact. The Brunswick people decided to have BP say to Julius, "Wanna buy some...stuff?" Just too hilarious.
