I won this item on ebay, though I did not expect it. Still, the seller has a good reputation. Does this look cheap to you, or is there something wrong with it?

It's only the first reel of the movie. The movie is 90 minutes, so it's about half. It's a fun film and should be pretty enjoyable although it would drive me crazy not having the rest of the movie.
I wouldn't call it cheap, but not really expensive. I'd say it's on the high side of just about right.

Fair enough. I was under the impression that usually this kind of thing is sold for a lot more.
Or rather, I have seen people offer a lot more on ebay for heavily faded prints. Never mind.
Now, I wonder where I could rent/borrow a 16mm projector in Holland...

Now you are stuck looking for the other half on ebay for the rest of your life. I'm looking for the last reel of a Frank Sinatra movie which I will probably never find, but I keep looking......every day.

Well, that does not really bother me in this case. What troubles me more is that I do not have a projector.

Hi Reinier,
There are always projectors available to buy on ebay - most are relatively inexpensive.
Why not bite the bullet, buy a projector, and start collecting 16mm prints.
What are you into at the moment? 35mm, 8mm, DVD?
Mike.

It's fun to try and get the entire feature when all you have is an odd reel. I have several odd reels (don't we all) and have spent years trying to track down the rest of the feature. Usually odd reels sell around $10 so if you can put three odd reels together and get the whole feature for $30 WOW.. that's like winning the lottery. Have I mentioned yet that I have never been able to put together a complete feature from odd reels?

Why I don't have a 16mm projector: lack of space. Why did I buy a 16mm film then: I am sort of a monty python collector (and I used to work in the lousiest cinema in the Netherlands).
I did at one time buy one reel of "the secret policeman's other ball", 16mm, and later the seller contacted me because he had found the second reel as well. So I ended up with the complete feature.
But that doesn't really count, does it? It never really was an odd reel.
Suppose everyone lists their odd reels, maybe that could complete a few films??
Luckily, "The Holy Grail" doesn't have much of a traditional storyline anyway. Indeed, it ends so suddenly you wonder if perhaps the last reel hasn't always been missing in every theatre.
