The singer died at 50 and the guitar has his own band.

They are featured in a pretty good movie RUDE BOY 1980

I have a 16mm print for sale if you are interested.

No, these folks are not interested in buying anything.

Along with the posts attributed to Ann Sullivan, this is just an effort to promote a movie. In this case, I suspect the push is for the documentary "Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten," which comes out in May in the UK.

It seems obvious to me that the posts touting "Outlaw" and "Waz," purportedly from both Ann Sullivan and Shala Jones, are transparent attempts to promote movies inside a movie forum. They also seem to originate from a UK source.

The posts are clearly not from collectors, and those making the posts may think that they are in a forum that discusses movies in a fannish way, instead of print collecting.

If they want to advertise, I'd prefer they be up-front about it, and pay Dave for some banner ads. He could use the money to keep the forum going.

Our members are pretty sharp and know a publicist's stunt when they see it. As long as this activity stays within the Cutting Room Floor forum I think it's harmless. Meanwhile I'm open to any movie related concern buying a banner ad or hitting the "ads by google" link and applying for a google spot here or on efilmcenter.

dave--i don't consider these ads totally harmless. they're unsolicited commercial postings. as such, they're the equivalent of spam. essentially, by allowing these postings to continue, you're making it possible for these individuals to get free advertising. since these ads appear within a discussion forum (in my view, an "off topic" section is not equivalent to a section that says, "advertisements welcome"), i find these ads annoying and offensive.
